Seanad Éireann Debate 27th June 2013 (excerpt)

Senator Marie-Louise O'Donnell 0'00" Senator Imelda Henry 9'24" Senator David Norris 12'54" ------------ Thirtysecond Amendment of the Constitution (Abolition of Seanad Éireann) Bill 2013: Second Stage Thursday, 27 June 2013 transcript: http://oireachtasdebates.oireachtas.i... http://www.kildarestreet.com/sendebat... ----------------------------------------------------------------- *Note 1: Yesterday I seen a clip of Senator David Norris' speech as part of this debate. It was uploaded here on Youtube and deserved lots more views. I actively shared it around. Later I watched more of the debate on the Oireachtas website and read through the transcripts. I figured it would be a good idea share a longer video by rewinding a bit before Senator Norris' speech for context. Senator O'Donnell's speech is also full of reason and should be widely seen. Senator Henry adds something else to the debate, but I'm not entirely sure what. It appears she has but one purpose in her oration. In the process of transcoding the video I decided to include the official transcript alongside the video for one reason or another. One was for the aesthetics and another was to show the sometimes subtle difference in what is written on record and what is actually said. Generally, this takes nothing away from the message, but I thought it was a useful exercise all the same. I have also included for some giggles, the automatic Youtube transcription of Senator Norris' speech from the original upload yesterday. I am interested to see how the A.I. ears decipher it this time!   / 350335950620078080   *Note 2: I would normally upload something like this to the other account, but that has now been restricted to 15 minute uploads, due to infringements by myself in the uploading of news items. Ironically one such clip was about the liberation of copyright of the iconic Che image by an Irish artist whom I am acquainted with. A certain broadcaster deemed it 'fair' to slap my wrist. This other account is deemed by myself to be a service, whereby I share relevant and interesting news and political pieces in the public interest, for posterity. That channel is on its last legs because some of the sources don't share my interest and enthusiasm for disseminating such information.
