I am planning on removing my RB26dett engine from my R32 Nissan Skyline GTR EP2. I will be doing all of this myself at home in my tiny garage. With a failed front turbo and metal fragments in the bottom of the oil pan I suspect my RB26 has main bearing failure. I will be removing the RB26dett NISMO timing belt. Before I pull the engine, I want to take a little time to remove the camshafts and inspect the aluminum bearings in the head. I need to inspect the RB26dett cam caps and the camshafts for any signs of damage from metal partials in the oil . I am planning a full engine tear down in the next month or so. My plans are to have the engine back from the machine shop and installed for next spring/summer.
