As fantastic as the Mediterranean is, sometimes the anchorages can get a bit packed. They are also subject to the swells in the Med which sometimes come out of nowhere when you least expect them. This is one of the reasons we love the lagoon anchorages in Southern Spain and Portugal, add to that the lovely villages, great food and lower prices than the Med and you'll see the Algarve is a very attractive cruising ground. Oh and with the prevailing wind out of the North you often have great flat water sailing too! So I'm glad we're getting to spend some time here and we are also choosing to lift the boat and get our prep for the Atlantic done here to at Sopromar boat yard in Lagos which everyone seems to like.
