Optware. As in Optional Software. Adding optware to your router will give you a plethora of additional functionality, well worth the effort. DD-WRT capable routers I've personally used: https://amzn.to/2xx1gC5 Asus RT-AC68U https://amzn.to/2JgVVFo Belkin Play Kong DDWRT Builds: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/ Turn on secure shell (SSH) on your router. Run cfdisk /dev/sdX (Where X is the letter of your thumbdrive. be careful, you can erase stuff with this) erase the existing partitions. make new ones to your liking, swap and whatever you want. create the filesystems on the partitions you just made using mke2fs -m 1 -L Optware /dev/sdX1 or mkswap /dev/sdX2 plug the device into the router. ssh in via ssh [email protected], enter your admin password. then run wget -O /tmp/prep_optware http://dd-ware.googlecode.com/svn/otr... then sh /tmp/prep_optware then grab some lunch. or bacon... go for bacon. come back, wait at least one minute after the script has finished, then run reboot in the ssh terminal. wait another minute, then try your ssh again, you should be greeted with the login screen as usual except there should be a small line that says "Enhanced with OTRW2" You win. from here you can set up services with service, install packages with ipkg, and loads of other stuff. we'll go over more of that in later videos. some guides found elsewhere on the 'net: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/... http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/... http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopi...
