Copy pasting notes I took when making these first: Pushing into 2 and a half hours, and the pain was realizing I failed to set up a clean beginning part with the heartbeat for looping the beginning to end loops. And to end it all...around hour 1 I realized looping the "I wanted blood" part was going to require a lot more tinkering. You see, it loops back to an earlier part where there's vocals but plays only instrumental. It'd require a lot of finagling to get sounding like it does in-game. Something I decided was a biiit more effort than I was willing to put. My laziness works in mysterious ways. I think the song sounds fine enough, anyways. It's just the "My compass was swallowed by the sea" that I really wanted looping. It sounds really nice. Kind of wish I had the beginning part loop more than 4 times, but a bit late for that. (Edit: Changed, now it lasts 3 minutes) Getting that looping background was a bit of an added annoyance. The video editor program I use doesn't have a convenient "Copy this and paste * y" feature so I had to manually paste the 4 second title screen over 30 minutes. Just a time waster. note end And something else. You see, there's two heartbeat sounds that feel like they're used in this fight. SFX_Heart_Near and SFX_Heart_OneShot. This might be a purely auditory hallucination, but I swear when listening to people play this fight that it randomly chose between these sounds. It sounded like that, but I also couldn't prove it no matter how many times I listened and compared. So I'm just going to hope it only uses OneShot and that I haven't screwed up everything. Also I hope you'll forgive me for not having the "I wanted blood" part loop a few times, it was a bit too much of a headache since I was reaching the end of my sickness, and...I couldn't really bring myself to care enough. I would have only had it replay 3-4 times since it doesn't replay that much longer in an average person's go through of this fight. ...Oh yeah, GasHarpoon itself. This fight was a bit of a pain. The only thing about it I really hated is that it felt like if you screwed up any phase's strongest attack even once, you just lost. Pip's mass attack staggers everyone not a tank instantly, Starbuck's just kills, and I don't remember the problem with Queequeg's but it hurt. The fight before it was way worse, although it took me less tries somehow. Also it's really sick that Ahab's EGO is clearly meant to be like a Claw's arm. There's probably symbolism there I'm not getting. It's probably meant to say something about Ahab, but I have to wonder if the reverse is true. What it could say about how Claw Arms might work. Edit: And how powerful EGO can be. It's pretty well stated that as strong as Kali was, what happened when she beat 2 Claws, a facility of abnos, and managed to catch Garion off-guard after she foolishly let her guard down was a very once in a blue moon on Friday the 13th when all the planets align type thing to happen. And the end of Ruina shows she can stand up to a Claw even in what she considered a degraded state. When we get EGO like GasHarpoon that's effectively bootleg Claw technology, what's the full extent EGO could manage when the right person manifests it? Could EGO recreate or reinvent certain techniques only singularities could manage? Thinking about it, a theoretical future the Technology Liberation Alliance wanted to create wouldn't be too insane with EGO on the table. Ahab could effectively bootleg a Claw arm, maybe some technology could recreate other improbable technologies purely born from someone's will. Although Ahab's EGO is definitely no Claw arm, a proper Claw would kick the crap out of her. But maybe if she had more time to learn how to use it, Ahab could have gotten somewhere with that EGO. And the more I think about it, I'm glad Ahab lived just for a theoretical future fight. Her EGO used others to power itself. If the status effects names are to be taken literally, it even stole Pip, Starbuck, and Queequeg's EGO to use for itself. Maybe their EGO is even the different harpoons that Ahab swapped to between phases. I'm really curious to see what that EGO could do in an inevitable future encounter. And while I'm rambling, major credit to Ahab. Any other person would have turned into a distortion on the spot after their very life's purpose is robbed from them right before their eyes, but Ahab is so delusional and absolute in her resolve she managed to instantly jump headfirst into the idea that the Pallid Whale is still alive out there and even got to keep her EGO because of it. It really shows how strong willed Ahab is. If there was a mod that would port any one thing from Limbus into Ruina, a well done recreation of Ahab's fight and Keypage would be the one thing I want most right now. Ah word limit-
