37688 and Scrap train, GWR Castle HSTs at Cardiff and Newport. , 153s. 25 November 22 A casual visit to Newport and Cardiff stations turned out to be a homage to Great Western's 'Castle' sets, the former HSTs. This is following Great Western's apparent intention to withdraw these by the end of the year. A bonus was 37688 Great Rocks on a train of Mark 3 carriages heading for scrap at Sims Group on Newport Docks. A couple of the Class 67-powered trains on the Holyhead - Cardiff route are also seen.
