In this lesson we'll take a look at the inner workings of the intro riff to "Walk In The Shadows" from 1986's Rage For Order album. Featuring the amazing vocals of Geoff Tate and the guitar combination of Michael Wilton and Chris DeGarmo, this line up was near untouchable in terms of talent and songwriting in the 80's and early 90's. "Walk In The Shadows" is interesting in that it is made up of two distinct guitar parts. I show you both parts in the video but spend most of the time on the interesting melodic riff coming from the right side of your speakers (if you are listening in stereo). Nothing too difficult here, just great songwriting from a great band. Standard tuning. Key of F# minor. Soak it in! Rock on!
