Should you use a RUNNING hydration pack, carry bottles, or nothing on your ULTRA MARATHON? The question of whether to use a hydration pack or carry water bottles was posed to me because a race website said that aid stations will be placed strategically throughout the course. I highly recommend using either a running hydration pack or carry hand-held water bottles for the primary reason of being able to hydrate and/or fuel on your schedule. Don't leave it up to race organizers to know exactly when you need to drink. Plan your ultra marathon thoroughly and accordingly and you will have a comfortable race.
