Diagnostics for Bluetooth G Shock Squares

Here is some additional information about the Bluetooth-enabled G-Shock Square watches including the GW-B5600BC-1 (seen in this video) and other models which use Module 3459 or Module 3461. These include other versions of the GW-M5600, the GMW-B5000, GMW-B5000TB, GWM-B5000TGC, GMW-B5000D, GMW-B5000GD and more! If someone were familiar with non-Bluetooth G-Shock Squares like the GW-M5610 then they might be used to seeing the battery charge indicator on the watch. They also might expect to easily access information on when the watch last updated its time using Multiband 6. This information is still available to users of the Bluetooth-enabled watches but may not be as easy to find. In this video I'll show you where to find that information using the smart phone app "G-Shock Connected" and the diagnostic information on the watch itself. Some people describe these as "hidden features" on their G-Shock watches. That may be accurate since there is no mention of the diagnostic functions in the official owner's manual for these watches. By pressing multiple buttons in different combinations it's possible to bring up diagnostic functions and/or information that isn't normally accessed. These same button combinations may work on most other G-Shock watches. By accessing these diagnostic functions, the user can test that the LCD segments are all visible, that the automatic backlight "tilt switch" is working properly and that the "Tough Solar" solar cell is reacting to lighting changes the way it should. These diagnostics are not very important in everyday use but maybe, someday, they will be useful just to make sure your watch is working right. In this video I demonstrate accessing these diagnostic functions on the G-Shock GW-B5600BC-1 which uses the Casio Module 3461.
