#scalemodel #aircraft #india #indianscalemodeler #twostepsahead This is an attempt to replicate the special livery Su-30MK-1 of the Indian Air Force. The paint job is the colors of the Indian national flag. Four aircraft were painted in this scheme for the National Republic Day parade flypast. India no longer operates the 'K' version as all are not MKI variants. Sukhoi 30K were on lease and were returned long ago once MKI were inducted. Four Sukhoi 30K were painted Tri-Color scheme for to commemorate India's 50th Independence Day Anniversary. These 4 aircraft were first showcased on Indian Air Force Day on 8th October 1997. Aircraft were SB-001, SB-006,SB-007 and SB-008. The model represents a Su-30MK-1 belonging to the 24th Aerial Sqd. "Hunting Hawks" of the Indian AF, January 2000. 4 Su-30MK-1s with bort numbers SB001,SB006,SB007,SB008 from the 24th AS were temporary repainted in national Indian colours and took part in a flypast over Delhi during celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Indian Republic. Over the standard paint scheme, the aircraft were adorned with tricolor cross stripes in the following order from nose section: dark orange, flat white and dark sea green. The model is an Trumpeter Su-30 MKK. The decals used were from the Begemot 48-004 Su-27 Flanker Family decal set. The "Wheel of Ashoka" - symbol of independence in Indian religion - was applied on the upper surfaces of the fuselage using the Begemot decal set. The kit was very detailed with accurate parts and I enjoyed building the beautiful Flanker out of it. The fit was perfect and photo-etched parts were very useful for detailing. The paint job was the most interesting part of the build. Local Acrylic paints - Camlin fluid acrylics were used to paint the Flanker and I am very much satisfied with the result.
