I'm going to be honest. I didn't like Mauritania. It's a difficult country and from what I saw of the main two cities the people were tough and not paticularly welcoming. Not one person stopped to talk to me or gave me anything when I talked to them. I only started to realise why after the video. I think a lot of the mistrust comes from the fact a large section of the population had some first hand experience of slavery and who could blame them for keeping themselves to themselves.
