This western series followed former civil war captain Bill Longley (Rory Calhoun), who roamed the American west helping those in need. The series ran on CBS for two seasons consisting of 78 episodes. In the season 1 episode "A Quart of Law", Longley arrives in a frontier town under the grip of a dictatorial sheriff and his two sidekicks, who are about to hold a sham election for the position of lawman.
