Meet the AMG G 63 4x4 Squared. This is the G-Class Exponent 2 - a bigger, wider, and more capable version of the very popular AMG G 63. Previously called the G 500 (G550 in North America), the new 4x4 Squared becomes a proper AMG and receives a lot of improvements to the suspension setup and portal axles, but it sits lower than its predecessor making it more daily drivable (438 mm vs 350 mm). Key ingredient: Portal axles. It uses gears to raise the wheel hubs above the center of the wheel - the drive axle is offset in this case - increasing ground clearance.
