Especially known for its aromatic Biryani made using long grain basmati rice, unlike the typical jeeraga samba rice used in biryanis elsewhere in Tamilnadu, this restaurant claims that its biryani is what brings patrons back each time. Aside from the biryani, the mutton and quail preparations here are what one should definitely indulge in here. In this episode of Gourmet On The Road, Food Lovers’ Editor, Kripal Amanna visits the kitchen to discover what makes this biryani great and also orders a full lunch meal complete with piping hot Mutton Biryani, Mutton Chukka, Chicken Chukka, Teetar Pepper Masala, Chicken Kebab and more to savour the whole experience of dining here. GOURMET ON THE ROAD RATING Mutton chukka meat is roasted superbly well. not your typical Chettinad/ Kongu chukka. very mild and gentle, allows you to enjoy the flavours of the meat. deep brown on the outside and moist and pink on the inside. Rs 150. 8/10 Chicken chukka crisped curry leaves add an extra dimension to the dish. excellent dish for a chicken lover! 8/10 Quail pepper dry Cooked well although quail is tough to get right. Prominent pepper flavours together with the characteristic crispy curry leaves makes this an intense dish. Rs 130 9/10 Quail phaal/masala thick gravy with the quail having soaked in all the masala. delicious! a dish to definitely order here! all you need is a piece if parota to mop up all the goodness. Rs 150. 10/10 Bheja/brain pepper fry in-your-face pepper hit with underlying flavours of curry leaves, onion and tomato.  Can be enjoyed both with roti and biryani. Rs 140 8/10 Vanjaram fish fry Fish tastes fine but doesn't really make the cut. slightly overcooked. the masala hasn't penetrated inside. I prefer the meat dishes here. Rs 160. 5/10 Chicken kebab Tastes like a regular kebab. A tad bit dry. if you love your kebab, this dish is worth trying. Rs 140. 6/10 Mutton Biryani certainly an aromatic biryani! made with the long grain basmati. very delicate in it's flavours. pink juicy pieces of mutton, you can taste the pure flavour of the meat. no heavy spices weighing down the meat. this is a delicious biryani!
