In 2021 DEMACLENKO completed a major project at the ski resort of Dachstein West in Austria. At the heart of the project was a new reservoir and a new pump station, including a water cooling system. The new station is situated 50 m below the lake and can be equipped with six main pumps (4 x 630 kW, 2 x 200 kW) and four 132 kW pre-pumps with a total flow rate of 330 l/s. DEMACLENKO was also responsible for the hydraulics and electrical engineering and also supplied 43 new snow guns (Ventus 4.0, Evo 3.0, EOS) to reinforce the piste network. In addition, a cooling system was installed next to the pump station, making snowmaking even more efficient. It means that the water can be cooled down as much as possible before being sent to the snow guns via the pump station. The system was also integrated into DEMACLENKO’s Snowvisual 4.0 software which enables it to be run fully automatically. This ensures that resources are allocated intelligently and used as efficiently as possible.
