Dream Museum (2023) Dream Museum was inspired by Miye Lee’s novel, DallerGut Dream Department Store (2020). “Sleep” is a universal experience that is accessible to all. Dreams allow us to explore new environments, become different characters, and also bring back our memories. As a child, I often dreamed of becoming a whale. What would it feel like if I lived inside the ocean? What would I see and experience if I became a whale? While writing this piece, I imagined what it would be like to become a humpback whale. The piece begins with an “Introduction,” portraying the moment of falling asleep. Then it moves into the dream of becoming a “Humpback Whale.” In this dream, we experience the deep ocean and all the marine life that humpback whales might experience. This is a MIDI playback.
