Piet Oudolf transforms his Glasshouse Landscape borders at RHS Wisley | The RHS

Iconic designer Piet Oudolf has radically redesigned the Glasshouse Landscape borders he first created for RHS Garden Wisley 20 years ago. An area totalling just under two acres has been redeveloped in Piet’s signature ‘New Perennial’ style, with meandering hillside paths that will lead visitors through the new landscape among bold drifts of herbaceous perennials and grasses, while retaining much-loved views of RHS Wisley’s Glasshouse. Donors and gardeners are planting around 36,000 plants, ready for the grand opening on 15 May 2024, and regular visitors have been eagerly watching the progress of the new landscape as it emerged. The old linear borders, with their shrubs and seasonally focused planting, have made way for a sweeping matrix of perennials and grasses, as well as woody plants.
