What is orthographic, oblique, axonometric or perspective projection? – Teaching of Art

Learn everything you need to know about projection systems ►► Learn to shade like a pro in less than 30 minutes. FREE Tutorial → http://TeachingOfArt.com/Shading What a challenge this was! ;-) In this episode, I will explain definitions of the following art terms: - Orthographic Projection or Multiview Projection - Oblique Projection - Axonometric Projection - Perspective Projection I will not only explain these art terms but also try to simplify them to their main principle. There are several key terms related to these projection systems, which I will talk about, and those are: - A pictorial drawing - A paraline drawing I will not only talk to you about the definitions of these 4 art terms but also show you actual examples of: - Cube in Multiview - Cube in Obliques - Cube in Axonometry - Cube in One-point Perspective - Cube in Two-point Perspective - Cube in Three-point Perspective It is quite interesting because there are different ways how to draw a 3D cube (or any other 3D object) without using the perspective rules. The oblique drawing and axonometric drawing appear to be 3D (3 dimensional) but they are non-perspective projections. If you're an artist, a designer or an architect, you should definitely know these art terms and use them in practice! So, in this art tutorial I will also reveal to you how you can use this knowledge about projection systems in practice… … and I will show my drawings including a page from my art sketchbook, … but most importantly I will tell you a little trick how you can easily memorise these art terms! In this video you will: - learn what is orthographic projection definition (plan, section, elevation) - learn what is orthographic drawing (front view, top view, side view) - learn what is multiview projection definition - see what is orthographic projection drawing (cube) - learn what is oblique projection definition (plan oblique & elevation oblique) - learn what is oblique drawing - see what is oblique projection drawing (cube) - learn what is oblique projection (plan oblique & elevation oblique) - learn what is pictorial drawing - learn what is paraline drawing - learn what is axonometric projection definition (isometric, dimetric & trimetric) - learn what is axonometric drawing - see what is axonometric projection drawing (cube) - learn what is perspective projection definition - learn what is perspective drawing - see a cube in one point perspective drawing - see a cube in two point perspective drawing - see a cube in three point perspective drawing Projection = System = Drawing Would you like to learn how to draw these projections? - Learn how to draw cube in oblique projection and one point perspective projection HERE:    • How to draw a cube easy – Learn how t...   - Learn how to draw cube in axonometric projection and two point perspective projection HERE:    • How to draw a 3D cube step by step – ...   Chapters 0:00 Introduction 0:48 Projection Systems Overview 1:16 What is Orthographic Projection 1:51 Example of Orthographic Drawing (Cube) 2:32 Elevation, Plan and Section (Multiview Projection) 3:23 What is Pictorial Drawing 4:17 What is Paraline Drawing 5:05 What is Oblique Projection 6:14 Example of Oblique Drawing (Cube) 7:22 What is Axonometric Projection 8:12 Example of Axonometric Drawing (Cube) 9:15 What is Perspective Projection 9:51 Example of cube in One-point Perspective 10:30 Example of cube in Two-point Perspective 11:14 Example of cube in Three-point Perspective 12:19 Definitions Summary 15:03 How to use this knowledge in practice 16:16 Help!
