The Caldbeck Fells: A 4 Wainwright Hike

A 4 Wainwright hike starting just off the Cumbria Way, walking through Mosedale and up to Apronfull of Stones where we make our ascent to Carrock Fell. A very steep ascent here, but once at the summit the views open up to a great panorama of the open moorland. A fantastic hike today with not a soul to be seen for the most part. In winter however, this hike will be incredibly boggy and wet. Finally a similarly very steep but direct descent from Great Calva to rejoin the Cumbria Way Once back at the car, the decision was made to drive to Binsey for my only wild camp of this trip.
