Bara Imambara: The Grand Imambara The Bara Imambara, or Asafi Imambara, is one of the largest and most magnificent buildings in Lucknow. Built in 1784 by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula, the fourth Nawab of Awadh, the construction of the Bara Imambara was initiated as a famine relief project.
