Mangalārati Mantrāha (Deepārādhana Mantrāha) | Challakere Brothers

Mangalārati Mantrāha (Deepārādhana Mantrāha), rendered by Challakere brothers. One of the long living rituals of Sanatana Dharma is Mangalaarati (or simple Aarati), also known as Deepārādhana or Mangalaneeraajana in some places. The word can be split as Mangala + Aarati where Mangala signifies good and Aarati which is derived from the word Araatrika indicating removal of darkness. Aarati ensures removal of ignorance, darkness, and provides forgiveness and as every deed in Sanatana Dharma indicates, the primary principle of seeking. A popular opinion is that we perform Aarati to see the deity’s face with the glow of Aarati. While the outward meaning of that sounds right, the core principle of Aarati is seeking strength from the deity to remove ignorance, and lighten the path towards seeking ultimate truth. The glow of Aarati ensures removal of such ignorance from our thoughts and deeds thereby. We have compiled here a list of Aarati mantras which are popular across the holy places in Bharathavarsha. All the mantras are sourced from Krishna Yajurveda Taittiriya Brahmana and provide a resounding divinity upon hearing them. Our heartfelt thanks to all the temple authorities and priests for being very generous in letting us capture the Mangalārati videos. Deities of the following temples are shown in this video - 1.
