Aaron Benanav'ın, 2020'de Verso tarafından yayımlanan In Automation and the Future of Work adlı kitabının Türkçesi, Otomasyon ve İşin Geleceği adıyla Haziran 2022 için Nota Bene'nin yayın programında. Benanav bu kitapta gelecekte çalışma hayatımızı belirleyecek olan yapısal iktisadi trendleri inceliyor ve teknolojik otomasyonun ve moda deyişle "robotların yükselişinin" işsizlik ve istihdam krizlerini açıklamaya yetip yetmediğini sorguluyor. Artık emeklerine ihtiyaç duyulmayan bir işsizler ordusuyla başa çıkmanın yolu nedir? Herkese asgari geçim ücreti ödemek mi? Halen London School of Economics'te sosyoloji doktorası yapıyor ve İstanbul'daki göçmenler bağlamında ırkçılık konusunu inceliyor. --- In Automation and the Future of Work, published by Verso in 2020 and due to be published in Turkish by Nota Bene in June 2022, Aaron Benanav uncovers the structural economic trends that will shape our working lives far into the future. He asks whether the much-discussed era of rapid technological automation and “rise of the robots” really explains the jobs crisis. In response to calls for a universal basic income that would maintain a growing army of redundant workers, what social movements are required to propel us into post-scarcity, if technological innovation alone can’t deliver it? Our conversation will outline the contours of the present labor crisis and Benanav’s argument for a post-scarcity future. Aaron Benanav: An economic historian and social theorist and currently a postdoctoral researcher at Humboldt University of Berlin. His first book, Automation and the Future of Work, appeared with Verso in 2020. His writing has appeared in the New Statesman, Nation, Dissent, Guardian, Boston Review and New Left Review. His research interests include nineteenth- and twentieth-century global economic history, unemployment and underemployment, economic growth and development, demographic shifts, and alternative economic systems. Helen Mackreath: A writer of reportage, cultural criticism and short stories based in Istanbul.
