In this episode we are fly fishing for trout, using Wooly Buggers and Chironomid patterns to catch and release large Rainbow trout on this very nice day in late March. The basalt rock side walls of this lake are spectacular. Like most of these scabland lakes there are some shoal area as a lot of straight drop offs so you are sometimes in sixty feet of water ten feet from shore. We start the day trolling Wooly buggers since we do not see evidence of a Chironomid hatch yet. But towards the middle of the day we start seeing Chironomids so we move to a good shoal with ten feet of water and start fly fishing with Blood worm patterns and Chironomid pupae. I hope you enjoy this episode. Fishing with Ladin: Fly Fishing TV Show's primary purpose is to inform the public about fly fishing techniques and places to fish in the Western United States.
