Conductor Elizabeth Askren invites you to a challenge, The Classical Music Challenge: Analog Your Life! Trough this TEDxZorilor Talk, Elizabeth explores the ways in which you can use classical music to combat today's toxic combination of isolation, confusion, threats from ecology, polarized society and virtual escapism. Elizabeth Askren, Ph.D., is a European-American conductor, teacher, and creator. She performs throughout Europe and the United States and is a leading pedagogue for conductors, orchestras, and opera artists. A jury member of the Philharmonie de Paris’ inaugural La Maestra competition, she collaborates with the Opera National de Paris’ Académie, and is a Master Teacher at The Dallas Opera’s Hart Institute. Dr. Askren is the Founder and Artistic Director of TOA – Transylvanian Opera Academy, an award-winning training program incorporating performance, personal development, and community outreach. She is also the creator of MaestraMagic!TM, an edutainment series for children, which she developed with her young daughter during the 2020 pandemic lockdown. Dr. Askren is regularly invited as a guest speaker on leadership, diversity and inclusivity, and the future of performing arts. She has been published in three languages, and has been featured in the American and European media such as PBS Newshour, Radio France Internationale, and TVR.
