A popular raw pet food company, Viva Raw, issued a recall for a batch of their duck recipes after a pet owner reported their dog's death while consuming the food. The dog tested positive for salmonella, and the food sample sent to the FDA also tested positive for salmonella and E. coli. However, Viva Raw's retained sample from the same batch did not test positive for the same bacteria.
