The Minneapolis Symphony conducted by Dimitri Mitropoulos performs Henri Rabaud’s La procession nocturne on January 14th, 1949. Rabaud, known for being extremely musically conservative had a mantra: "modernism is the enemy." To my ears there is some decidedly modern dissonance in this piece from 1899. What do you think? Technical info: Unknown Scotch 7” Cine Reel 15 IPS This recording was extremely quiet which is why there is so much noise. I added a bit of noise reduction but not too much because it would have taken away too much high end. I also pitched down the recording 40 cents to match a commercial recording I found - it sounded to my ears like the tape ran a bit fast when recording - especially the woodwinds stood out. I can correct if someone thinks it sounds odd slightly lower?
