One way of making your tennis warm up more effective is to use drills that work on the coordination of upper and lower body. Coordination is another word for efficient organisation of different body parts in a limited time. Now that you see that definition is makes more sense to focus on coordination since the biggest problems in the game of tennis are preparing late and hitting the ball late. So in today’s video you’ll learn very practical and effective warm up drills that I have been using for quite a while with my students and they have proven to be very effective in correcting the late preparation on the forehand and developing better overall movement around the court. This is bit a longer video as I had to explain how to perform the drills correctly and point out the most common mistakes you may make. Next week I will publish part 2 of the warm up drills where you’ll learn 7 additional variations of these drills where each focuses on a different aspect of a tennis stroke so stay tuned. 0:00 Intro 1:11 What Is Coordination? 2:38 Poor Coordination Examples 6:03 Forward - Backward Movement 10:33 Left - Right Movement 16:41 Footwork Combinations
