In this video I will be showing you how to calculate and build a basic mains transformer with electrical steel sheets. Along the way you will learn about the number of turns and the thickness of the primary and secondary winding and also how the size of the transformer influences those values. Once the testing of the "normal" transformer is done, I will then continue by 3D printing one with ferromagnetic filament in order to find out whether it can be an alternative material.
